In this period between Easter and Pentecost, the Rev Dr Keith Garner explores some of the final verses of Luke’s Gospel. In the midst of the disciples’ fear, Jesus came to them risen and transformed, and we learn that he comes to us as well in the middle of our challenges and confusion. Jesus surprised the disciples as she showed them his risen hands marked with scars that indicated the depths of his love for them. In doing this, we learn that Jesus was also preparing his disciples for the mission that lay ahead of them as they awaited the gift of God’s empowering Holy Spirit.
