The Rev Dr Rick Dacey puts us in the shoes of the disciples as they feel the temptation to avoid the persecution and death waiting for Jesus in Jerusalem and ultimately themselves in later years. The temptation to avoid the challenges of God’s call is as real for us as it was for them. We see how that call has been accepted, rejected and subverted throughout history and consider how we will respond in our own lives.
