This week the whole of the Wesley Mission family celebrated the 200th anniversary of the arrival of Rev Samuel Leigh, Australia’s first Methodist minister, with a celebration service at the Wesley Centre in Sydney. In this sermon, the Rev Dr Keith Garner shares how Samuel Leigh was called by God to minister in Australia, how he met challenges and built not only Methodist chapels but opportunities in a new community. Samuel Leigh was a fearless entrepreneur and a faithful committed leader of whom we shall always be thankful.
