The Rev Dr Keith Garner looks at God’s words to Moses in the burning bush. Moses is caught up in a very ordinary situation, tending his father’s sheep, when he has a very extraordinary encounter with God–a burning bush that is not consumed. Just as God captured Moses’ attention in the middle of his everyday activities, we too must be alert for God’s direction in our own everyday lives. We do well also to remember how God used Moses, a man with many weaknesses, to be a maker of history.
