In this sermon the Rev Keith Garner discusses how most people, today, prefer to talk about empowerment, rather than service. Part of the difficulty lies with the darker side of servanthood, forced service through slavery. Jesus, however, models and teaches a different type of servanthood – putting others before yourself.

Jesus lived and breathed to serve, we see this as we approach Easter, when Jesus washes the feet of his disciples.

The disciples didn’t full understand the significance at the time but, like them, we are all called to serve in His name.
