About the program                                                                                                                    

Wesley Home Care provides in-home and community-based services to older Australians. We assist people to lead fulfilling lives by providing life enriching supports in the community. We offer quality personalised care, encouraging clients to maintain their independence, while catering for their social, physical and spiritual needs.

About the role

The Support Worker provides personalised support to clients appropriate to their needs, goals and aspirations. Services may be provided to clients in their home or the community. This may include, but is not limited to, shopping, personal care, domestic assistance, transport, meal preparation and social activities.

About you

  • Certificate III in Individual Support or Aged Care is highly regarded but not necessary for entry level positions
  • First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain prior to employment
  • previous experience working with older people, including people who have dementia and/or complex needs – desirable but not essential
  • has empathy for older people within the community
  • wants to bring joy to someone’s life while providing a meaningful service
  • wants an opportunity to begin career and grow within the Community Services Sector
  • well-developed communication and interpersonal skills
  • ability to work effectively independently and in a team environment
  • understanding of WH&S issues and risk management
  • COVID vaccination (minimum of 2 doses)
  • comprehensively insured & registered motor vehicle and current NSW driver’s licence
  • those speaking a second language are encouraged to apply
  • police check.

Remuneration

Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010 as a Home Care employee, dependent on existing qualifications. Casual leave loading (25%) as applicable. Other benefits include:
