Cold, scared, trapped … can you provide a way out?
Tonight in Australia, 116,000 people have no home to go to.
“It's hard to imagine what being homeless is like until you actually are. You never think you'd need these services. But when you do, you can't survive without that little bit of help. Without services like Wesley Mission's I wouldn't have been able to feed my daughters.” – Julia*

“It was horrible, but I put my kids first and we left.” – Julia
Julia turned to Wesley Mission for help after years without a proper place to call home for herself and her two little daughters, Sara and Evie.
She’d fled family violence when her youngest was only eight months old.
Caring for her girls, she couldn’t get a job or afford rent.
They’d been forced to sleep on the couch of any friend who’d let them stay over.
When Julia somehow stretched her small family benefits allowance to rent a tiny single room all three shared, the mattresses were infested with bed bugs that covered the girls’ little bodies in red, painful bites. And often after Julia paid the rent, nothing was left to buy food.
When Julia finally asked for assistance she was tired, defeated and hopeless.
Wesley Mission could only be there for her when she needed us, because of our caring and amazing supporters – people just like you.
Now Julia and her girls are happy, secure and settled in a Wesley Mission transitional property. They love their modest but tidy home. A Wesley financial counsellor helped Julia get on top of her debt.
“I'm enormously thankful I had help to get back on my feet because I never could have done it on my own. To Wesley Mission and all the people who donated so my girls and I could have this support, I'm eternally grateful.” – Julia
Right now many other families and individuals are wondering where they’ll sleep tonight. Their situation will get worse as winter closes in.
Please help us provide those facing homelessness with secure warm shelter and the support to deal with the root cause of their challenges. Please donate today.
